Improper hair care can result in excessive hair loss. Are you loosing your hair?

It is know that improper hair care can cause loss of hair. Having too frequent chemical treatments such as dyes, tints, bleaches, straighteners, and permanent waves may result in hair loss. Leaving the solution on for too long can cause hair to break. Here are a couple of other causes of hair loss:

Hairstyles that pull on the hair - constant pull causes some hair loss along the sides of the scalp. So when going for ponytails or braids styles, don't pull tightly, go for looser hairstyles every now and then.

Hair can also be damaged (break) when you shampoo, comb and brush too often. Use a cream rinse or conditioner after shampooing for easier combing and more manageable hair.

Vigorous rubbing of hair especially when it is wet after a shower can cause problems to your hair. Wet hair is more fragile, avoid vigorously rubbing with a towel, rough combing and brushing. Use brushes with smooth tips and wide toothed combs.
